The Mary E. Seymour Free Library in Cassadaga was closed for a year now due to mold that infested in the branch library.
So much time and effort was spent just to conduct mold testing, remediation and inspection in order to reopen the library to the public. But it seems that it will need more cost to refurbish the whole building—- as much as $74,235, according to the latest estimation.

CASSADAGA – A year has passed since Dave Wilson, Stockton town supervisor, shut down the Cassadaga Branch Library of the Mary E. Seymour Free Library after notification from Catherine Heath, library supervisor, that there was mold in the building.
Hours at the library in Stockton were increased so that town and village residents have access to a library, but the Cassadaga building has remained closed to the public.
Many efforts, large and small, have been made to improve the situation and work toward reopening the Cassadaga Branch, but it does not look like the Cassadaga branch library will be reopening any time soon.
The latest estimate of the cost of refurbishing the building is $74,235.
